- Going beyond the surface is something that I strive for as a photojournalist. My love for people, culture and diversity allows me to be consistently positive and excited about the world around me, and my career as a journalist. As a graduate from Western Kentucky University, I have been taught by some of the best professionals in our field. Fine-tuning my ethics, striving for accuracy and acquiring skills as a visual journalist at Western has educated me beyond photography. Briana,
I hope you don't mind comments from strangers, but I'm about to send a loved one into the Peace Corps in June, to teach English, and I've been soaking up all I can about the people there, and the volunteers and their blogs who are already doing some amazing things. I'm eager to be supportive, but know that I couldn't possibly understand what this transition will be like, or how it changes one. If you're willing, and when or if you even have the time (which I'm sure is doubtful), I'd love to be able to get in contact with you or other volunteers who are willing to talk about these experiences or willing to try to answer some of my questions.
