Safe... OUT
My assignment to shoot baseball was cancelled yesterday due to lack of space. So I went anyway and shot for kicks. It was the most fun I have had thus far at a baseball game. It was the Thursday Throwdown, which meant it was only $6 to get in and $1 beers. Needless to say it was the prime place to people watch. There was a crowd of 8,900, great golden light, and a doubleheader game with no rain!
The peak moment of the night was when Ryan Rogowski slid to third base and was safe. But when he was getting up he evidently stepped off of the plate and was tagged out. Third Base Coach, John Shoemaker became quite temperamental, yelling and throwing down his batting helmut. It was the final out of the game, leaving the score 4-3, Mobile BayBears win. Just for FYI, the Jacksonville Suns won the second game 8-3.
Note to self: It is best not to shoot wide pretty shots during the peak moment.
